Seven Sunday-Things / Sieben-Sachen Sonntag

Following the idea of “Frau Liebe” I want to show on every Sunday (or sometimes on a Monday Wednesday ;) seven things which I used - with my hands - during the day.

We returned from a visit to Italy on Saturday. Sunday was the day to make the laundry and cuddle the cats :)

Nach der Idee von "Frau Liebe" gibt es an dieser Stelle jeden Sonntag (oder erst am Montag Mittwoch ;) Bilder von sieben Sachen, für die ich heute meine Hände gebraucht habe.

Am Samstag kehrten wir von einer Reise nach Italien zurück. Der Sonntag wurde dadurch zum Wasch- und Katzenknuddel-Tag.

1. Obviously, I had to buy an Italian decoration magazine at the airport - for my collection. (And yes, I know that the name is French, but it's the Italian version.)

Natürlich musste ich am Flughafen ein italienisches Deko-Magazin kaufen - für meine Sammlung.

2. It was time to remove all Diwali decorations and pack them up for next year.

Es war an der Zeit alle Diwali Dekorationen zu entfernen und zu verstauen, bis zu ihrem Auftritt im nächsten Jahr.

3. A lot of laundry: It wasn’t just our travel, one of the cats had diarrhea, so I had to wash bed sheets, blankets and covers as well.

Sehr viel Wäsche: Es war nicht nur unsere Reise, sondern eine der Katzen hatte Durchfall, also auch Bettbezüge, Laken, Decken usw. ...

4. Another project - in principle, it’s perfect: watching TV and removing some staple pins to renew the chair cover fabric. But, whoever made those chairs wanted the pins to stay there forever. I never had such a hard time removing them - and no, I am not done, yet.

Ein anderes Projekt (während die Wäsche durchlief). Theoretisch kann man gut dabei TV gucken und die Tackernadeln aus dem Stuhl ziehen, denn der Bezugsstoff muss dringend erneuert werden. Aber wer immer diese Nadeln in das Holz reingedrückt hat, wollte sie offenbar für alle Ewigkeit dort verankern, denn es war so eine Sch***arbeit, daß ich erst einmal aufgegeben habe.

5. This one was easier, since I almost finished sewing the pillow cover before leaving for our journey. Just some final touches and this project was done.

Das hier war einfacher, denn ich hatte den Kissenbezug schon fast fertig, bevor wir verreist sind. So musste ich nur ein bißchen weiternähen und siehe da: Erfolgserlebnis ^^

6. We met friends at Saravanaa Bhavan and I ordered Paper Dosa… perfectly enough for me :)

Wir trafen Freunde im Saravanaa Bhavan und ich bestellte Paper Dosa … das reicht für mich :)

7. And what did A. do? - Well, he cleaned the stairs on Saturday, I cleaned them on Sunday… and some other leaves. Was one still able to see any of this progress on Monday? - I’m afraid not.

Und was hat A. gemacht? - Nun, am Samstag hat er die Treppe gefegt, ich habe am Sonntag daran gearbeitet und auch Blätter in der Auffahrt entfernt. Konnte man diesen Fortschritt am Montag noch erkennen? - Leider nein.

After one week at the Adriatic coast, the weather back in Frankfurt felt so much colder. I hope I will get used to it soon.

Nach einer Woche an der Adria kam mir das Wetter hier in Frankfurt schon empfindlich kühl vor. Ich hoffe, daran gewöhne ich mich schnell wieder - samt dem Winterjacke Tragen.
